As we announced last month that we’ll be organizing a series of workshops in Istanbul, aimed at helping young architects and interior designers, to learn from the experienced Algedra interior designers about interior design, architecture and contemporary issues in the interior industry.
The first workshop, labeled ‘Design Thinking’, was held in the last week of June, from 28th till the 3rd of July. The workshop helped the participants to develop skills and enhance knowledge about designing better products, services, solutions, architecture, and experiences through practical exercises, real case studies and useful materials.
The trainers at the event concentrated on the nature of design, its characteristics, the problems that arise in designing and their solutions. They also shed light on the mental, thinking process they go through when coming up with the design principles, strategies, and tactics.
Learning from the professionals about the issues they regularly face when in the field will help the attendees to better prepare and cope with similar situations when they will be in the fields themselves. The workshop also allowed the participants to examine how designers use architectural drawings and how they work in teams and groups to achieve the best results.
The engagement from the participants’ side was quite high in the shape of questions and back-and-forth discussions. The teachers answered the questions with supporting insights and were impressed with the quality of the audience.
In addition to the knowledge and experience gained from practical exercises, useful material, real case studies and insights, the participants also earned a certificate of completion which they can showcase on their resumes and career profiles.
Mr. Mohab Ayoub, CEO of Algedra Interior Design, who personally curated the whole event said, “The workshop is also a way for ALGEDRA to identify possibly potential future members of the team. Delivering Turnkey projects is a complex practice, that is why our series of workshops are devoted to various stages of that process; from the ability to generate creative ideas to bringing the ideas to life. “
The workshop was open for everyone interested in architecture and interior design, it lasted for a week and provided valuable experience to the attendees. Algedra Group will continue to organize a series of workshops to cover various topics in interior design and architecture. Next in line is ‘How to bring a project into reality’, which will be held on the 19th of July 2019 till the 22nd of July.
